CANADIAN MILITARY HEADQUARTERS/-LONDON- purple ink large double-ring circular marking with crest in centre, similar to B/T #M20-47 & M20-29, but with dashes at sides instead of crosses or dots, on back of Canadian YMCA cover from FIELD POST OFFICE/465 JU 22/43 CDS to Montreal, fwd. to MORIN HEIGHTS/P.Q. PM/14 JUL/43 CDS b/s. Bit of aging, small part of back flap missing.

LLOYDMINSTER/SASKATCHEWAN 7:30 PM/AUG 14/1945 machine cancel ties #254 to cover to local address. Has typewritten "First Day cover (V-J Day August 14/45)". Not a first day cover as we know them, but certainly is a V-J Day cover! Unsealed, wee tiny bit of aging.

No. XI DISTRICT DEPOT/DEC 20 1945/POST OFFICE green ink very large CDS B/T #M21-89 (RF E) nice strike as b/s on window cover from New York City NOV 30/1945 meter, much fwd. with other good military markings inc. B/T #M21-155, M15-75, M13-99, M13-176, M13-400. Bit of aging, but surprisingly good condition considering all its travels!

MAITLAND M.P.O. 628/N.S. AM/OC 16/44 CDS SON strike on #C8 (no cover), B/T #M13-283 RF D. We had a Maitland MPO cancel on cover several months ago, and had the most requests for it that we have ever experienced for any lot. Thus it must be a scarce one. Let's see what interest this cancel only on a stamp will generate.

COMMANDING OFFICER/DEC 5 1945/H.M.C.S. LAURIER two blue ink oval markings on front of cover to New York, also has N.P.O. 618 N.S./-- DEC 6/1945 machine cancel. A former RCMP ship used for anti-submarine duties on the east coast, returned to RCMP in 1946.

ROYAL NAVY Honour envelope with red ink machine cancel POST OFFICE/MARITIME MAIL (undated) to Toronto, m/s dated 11/7/44 under the addressee name. Form No. S 1324/100M-2-42 (3444)/N.S. 815-1-26. Has censor label. Bit of edge wear, but these used to Canada are very scarce!

POST/OFFICE/MARITIME/MAIL dull red ink large wiggly circular marking ties 4x3d GB #263 to cover to Goderich, Ont., no b/s, no date. This lot inc. a 2nd example of this marking on stampless cover m/s dated 1/11/44 to Ottawa, no b/s. Both covers have FROM H.M. SHIP tombstone censor markings on the front. Both with wee bit of aging.

R/____/N.P.O. 605/No.____ dull purple ink registration box B/T #M14-33 with 'HALIFAX N.S.' removed, mailed from COMMANDING OFFICER/H.M.C.S. PORTAGE APR 23 1946 blue ink large CDS with #257 tied by indistinct Toronto cancel, cover addressed to Toronto. Free franking from Navy ship, but registration had to be paid by postage stamp. Opened 3 sides, rough right edge, stamp edge folded over top of cover, bit of aging.
